After winning the Don Frost Memorial Cup and the Anglian Combination’s season curtain raiser against East Harling, Wroxham Reserves kicked off their league campaign with an away trip to Blofield United with a strong second half performance leading to a 7-1 victory.
However their first home game midweek under lights at Trafford Park proved to be a much more even contest.
Waveney have clearly recruited well and the previous Saturday carried out a demolition of East Harling.
A defensive mistake error allowed Waveney to score in the first half, and in spite of spells of concerted pressure, the Reserves were unable to fashion an equaliser and so succumbed to a narrow defeat.
