Wroxham missed first half chances as former Yachtsman Jordan Attree made them pay with a brace either side of half-time.

Wroxham faced last season’s Sterry Cup holders Acle Utd who are slowly making progress up the table. The game was brought forward to Friday night to be played under floodlights and this resulted a decent crowd arriving at Trafford Pack for the game.
The home side needed a win to maintain 3rd place after losing narrowly to St Andrews last week and other teams starting to catch them. Early signs were promising as the young Yachtsmen had the wind behind them in the 1st half & they put Acle under considerable pressure. There were a couple of half chances before Shaun Taylor hit a firm long range shot which was well taken by Scott Foreman in the 17th minute. Soon after a lovely run by Ben Fowkes saw him ghost past a couple of defenders before crossing to Danny Rogers at the far post. The Wroxham striker had a clear sight of goal and should have converted but dragged his shot beyond the far post.
Wroxham continued to have much of the play but were unable to take advantage. Liam Brock was booked for a strong challenge as the game started to get rather scrappy.
It looked like the sides would go in a at half-time on level terms but Acle scored out of the blue with a minute to go. A short back pass failed to reach ‘keeper Harley Lemmon and two defenders got in a muddle as former Yachtsman Jordon Attree stepped between them to take the ball, run on and hit the bottom corner.
Wroxham had failed to take the chances which came their way and were made to pay the penalty.
Acle came out at the start of the second half with a more determined feel about them and this paid off as they increased their lead on 50 minutes when a fine cross from the left found Attree unmarked and his glancing header nestled in the bottom corner.
The visitors were really boosted by this and stepped up their game putting Wroxham under increasing pressure with Attree showing an constant threat against his former colleagues. Wroxham had more players go in the referees notebook as they questioned some of the decisions which were starting to go against them.
Wroxham had a chance to get back in the game when referee Sandwell allowed play to continue after a foul on a Wroxham player enabling Fowkes to get in a low cross which just need a touch to convert but there was no one able to apply it. The referee brought back play to the edge of the area to enable a free-kick to be taken but Wroxham were unable to take advantage of this second opportunity.
But with Sam Gauntlett also being shown a yellow card, Wroxham become more frustrated with play turning against them. A shot was cleared off the line as Acle applied more pressure and it was no surprise when they scored a third. Another cross to the far post saw Ian Morgan climb high to head home.
With their subs on Wroxham started to get back but were unable to open up a strong Acle defence well marshalled by Adam Faulkes and behind him Foreman coped comfortably with anything that did get past. Wroxham finally got a consolation with a minute left when Archie Galley bombed forward to cross for Chay Oliver to tap in. But in all honesty Wroxham were second best throughout the second half and paid for failing to put away their chances in the first. They now face a difficult run in with other teams now closing in with games in hand.
