Cromer are a much improved side to the one we beat 6-0 at Cabbell Park in October.
The game was given the go ahead by referee Peter Venables despite a heavy midday downpour which was going to make the pitch very heavy.
But both sides made light of the conditions with Ben Fowkes included in the Wroxham side for the first time this season and his strong cross eventually reached fellow County U18 colleague Tom Rampling whose shot was turned over by Cromer 'keeper Liam Davis.
Sam Gauntlett went in the referee's notebook for a hefty challenge which started set the tone for more to come.
The basement visitors were looking dangerous on the counter attack with Vida Formosa striking the ball well but his shot was straight at Harley Lemmon.
A corner from Wroxham skipper Shaun Taylor fell for Vinny Catacampol who swiveled to get in a shot on the turn which was well over.
Wroxham started to get on top midway through the first half and Sam Gauntlett's free kick was diverted wide on 30 mins.
It was no surprise they took the lead in the next attack. Taylor lobbed the ball forward for Danny Rogers to dispossess a defender and set up Ben Fowkes whose low shot found the bottom corner on 31 minutes.
Rogers then found the net himself two minutes later but his effort was disallowed as the officials decided there was a foul before the ball reached him.
Wroxham doubled their lead on 43 minutes with a good move down the left this time and a cross which fell for Fowkes to side foot home.
With what appeared to be a comfortable lead Matt Doyle replaced Gauntlett to set up Danny Rogers for a 3rd goal on 50 minutes. He cut through the Cromer defence and rounded the 'keeper to set up Rogers to score off the post.
Tom Rampling was next in the referees book for kicking the ball away. Wroxham scored a 4th when Rogers returned the compliment with a pass for Doyle to score low past the 'keeper. Cromer were now looking ragged as they also had players booked for some robust challenges
It looked like the home side were coasting towards a comfortable win as they again went close with Taylor heading over from Fowkes corner and brought on their subs. But Cromer certainly made a fist of it in the final 20 minutes. Following a foul on the edge of the penalty area spotted by referee Venables, he awarded a penalty which Jack Crane duly dispatched to give the visitors a boost.
Within a minutes they had a second when Antoni Fawkes took advantage of a defensive slip to shoot past Lemmon to make it 4-2.
Wroxham were stung by this as Cromer almost had a third. However with time ticking away they scored a 5th when following a free-kick awarded near the corner flag Rogers somehow managed to weave past two defenders on the byline to cross for Aaron Attree who had a simple tap-in.
Immediately Cromer scored a 3rd in the 90th minute with Fawkes adding a second and Wroxham glad to hear the final whistle soon after.
