A late strike from the in form Aaron Attree sealed all three points for the Yatchsmen Reserves in a scrappy game against Caister.

Wroxham without the suspended Jordan Attree and Danny Rogers lined up in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Lemmon in goal, RB Lewis Meecham, CB Harry Severn, CB Josh Carus, LB Aiden Wickam. In front of the back four was the holding two of Shaun Taylor and Archie Galley. An attacking 3 of Tom Jewell, Aaron Attree and Jack Parker led by Harry Maddison.

A scrappy start which was to set the tone for the entire game saw both teams see lots of the ball, and then give it away.

It was Wroxham who had the first attack on the 7th minute when Carus played a great ball to Maddison who held the ball well and popped it off to Attree who showed a nice piece of skill to beat the Caister full back and cross a good ball into the box which was not met. In the 10th minute Caisters tricky wide man Anton Ward beat Meecham and whipped in a cross which was met with a header but never troubling the Wroxham goal.

Caister who were on top of this very open game came close to taking the lead when Scott Woodcock forced a great save from Lemmon who palmed the ball onto the bar from close range. Attree who was at the hub of everything had his shot saved after wriggling out of a tight spot. Galley was working tirelessly alongside Shaun Taylor. It was Caister who took the lead in the 25th minute when their forwards first shot was blocked and luckily came back to him and toe poked passed Lemmon.

This sparked a response from Wroxham who surged forward attacking with Jewell and Parker on both flanks delivering great balls into the box. Jewell, who was becoming more involved in the game had a few shots saved. Wickham produced a nice piece of skill which sold the Caister full back and was subsequently fouled for sending him in the complete wrong direction. Attree had a good chance but his shot was just wide of the post. Caister produced a good attack in the 37th minute and a good move led to an attempt on goal which was saved with ease by Lemmon.

With 40 minutes on the clock Meecham whipped in a good free kick which was met by Maddison. Jewell who was getting involved more switched the play well after beating his man. Wroxham best attempt of the half fell to Taylor whose shot from the edge of the 18 yard box was saved.

HALF TIME: CAISTER 1-0 WROXHAM

It was Caister who came out of the blocks the fastest with an attack which looked to be threatening but proved not when a great challenge saw Woodcock's shot pushed to one side. Some good play between Attree, Parker and Jewell put Caister under pressure for a Wroxham period of attack.

On 70 mins Wroxham equalised after Attree played the ball into Maddison who played off to Jewell. The tricky wide man then slotted the ball to Shaun Taylor who finished smartly into the far left corner. Wroxham who now were on top after finding their rhythm saw a surge in attacking football. Galley who was bossing the Caister midfield was winning everything coming his way. Frustration was building in the Caister ranks with some of their attempts to break up play resulted in elbows and late challenges. Taylor was caught by a very late tackle from Warren Nicholls which deservedly resulted in a yellow card.

On the 80th minute Wroxham looked certain to take the lead through Josh Carus but he blazed over from close range. Parker made way for Seamus Bobby and Jewell was replaced by Ben Riley with both players making an immediate impact. Attree played the ball to Taylor after beating a two players and then played the ball to Riley who won a corner which didn't lead to much. Seamus Bobby was putting himself around to the dislike of the Caister players.

With time almost up Wroxham scored the winner. Attree found himself in on goal from a delightful ball from Meecham which cut straight through Caisters back 4 and the inform midfielder slotted the ball into the bottom corner. That was the final kick of the game and overall, a deserved win from the young Wroxham side which ensured they finished in 2nd place at the year end following Harleston's defeat at Spixworth..
