The Reserves showed great character to come back from 1nil down at half-time to gain a fully deserved 2-1 win with an excellent team performance.

Mattishall pressed hard from the start and gained a corner in the first minute which Wroxham managed to clear although in doing so, Aiden Wickham fell heavily on his back and required treatment. He got up and continued for a few minutes before falling again and was replaced by Tom Jewell.
In the opening minutes, Wroxham were struggling to get their passing game going and showed some frailties at the back as Mattishall took the lead after 10 minutes. A cross from the left by McCann should have been cleared but went right across goal to Xavier Huckle who couldn’t miss from 6 yards to give the visitors the lead. Leading scorer Huckle who has been showing interest from Yachtsmen 1st team manager Damian Hilton was proving to be a livewire at this stage.
Wroxham gradually got in the game and on 35 minutes almost got themselves an equaliser. A good move saw Aaron Attree’s shot well taken by Mattishall keeper Tiplady.
Then a cross from Jack Parker reached Marcus Wilkinson whose shot was also saved by the the Mattishall custodian.
The young Yachtsmen were now knocking the ball around nicely but the final touch was letting them down.
Parker received a good pass from Shaun Taylor and looked to be in a good position to get in a shot only to hit thin air as the ball bobbled. But he recovered only to shoot over.
Wroxham were piling on lots of pressure in the second half but the final touch was still not there.
Tom Jewell let fly from 25 yards and the keeper was beaten only to see the ball crash against the bar.
Then substitute Steve Kidd was through and he hit a firm shot which was again well saved.
In the 75th minute Wroxham finally got the equaliser they deserved. A thro’ ball found Danny Rogers who ran through to slot the ball home.
Wroxham continued to press and a lovely cross from Marcus Wilkinson was header away and the same player had a shot which hit the side netting.
At the other end the Wroxham goal led a charmed life for a time until Harley Lemmon pounced on the ball.
Wilkinson was again fouled but the referee allowed played to continue as the ball reached Rogers whose shot from the edge of the area went wide.
Mattishall defenders were guilty of more cynical fouls which passed leniently by referee Lewis including one where Harry Maddison was brought down. The Wroxham player though had the final say when he was put through by a clever lob from Shaun Taylor and Maddison struck an angled drive into the top corner of the net to give Wroxham the lead on 85 minutes.
There were then some ugly scenes as Danny Rogers was man handled which resulted in a ruckus involving many players with the referee sending off 3 players, 2 from Mattishall and Rogers for Wroxham.
When the game was restarted a free kick found Huckle who shot straight at Lemmon and shortly after the referee brought the game to a close.
