Wroxham needed to win against their relegation rivals and things looked good after gaining a 2-nil lead only to end up losing 4-3 with a dismal second half performance.
Luke Holt took over in goal after Kingsley Barnes had not fully recovered from his concussion injury.
On a poor pitch with too much grass in most areas Wroxham still managed to get their passing game going. They should have been awarded an early penalty when a blatant hand ball was not awarded by the referee who ignored all appeals.
Wroxham were getting on top and took a deserved lead on 20 minutes with a fine individual goal by Bradley Spooner. Some clever footwork took him past a Stratton defender and he finished off by poking the ball in at the far post.
Good work by Shaun Taylor led to them increasing the lead on 29 minutes as he set up Jack Lincoln, who took his time but finally found the net.
Wroxham ought to have had a penalty when Lincoln burst through but the referee again amazed everyone by not awarding one but instead giving a free-kick to Stratton.
This seemed to have a demoralising affect as the home side started to show up after they had been outplayed and right on half-time they bundled the ball in the net to pull one back.

A mistake at the start of the second half almost gave Stratton an equaliser. For a few minutes Wroxham seemed to be getting their game together again with Danny Roger’s having a chance but unable to get a good connection. Then Jack Lincoln’s shot was blocked on the line but from then onwards Wroxham’s game fell apart. Indecision by defenders enabled a Stratton forward to get past them and looped a shot over Holt to equalise on 60 minutes.
Wroxham had one chance to regain the lead when Josh Denny crossed to Rogers who should have scored with a header but the Stratton keeper made a brilliant one hand save to deny him.
After that Stratton took over and although Holt made a good save he was unable to stop a follow-up which gave the home side the lead.
Then they were awarded a penalty to make it 4-2 as Wroxham fell apart.
They gained a consolation penalty themselves which Spooner gained and put away in the last minute but by then it was too late to get back. Wroxham now find themselves in a position they have not been in before since joining the Premier Division, six points behind and bottom of the table.
