Early play was mainly concentrated in mid-field as the young Wroxham side played some neat football on a heavy pitch.
But Mattishall took the lead on fifteen minutes when a cross from the right by ....was cleared only as far as Moran who rammed the the ball through a crowded goalmouth and past an unsighted Ollie Sutton into the bottom corner.
Wroxham had to replace Mac Gee who was only just returning to fitness with a recurrence of his ligament damage. He was replaced by 16 year old Alex Philpott making his senior debut.
Mattishall had another chance as they stepped up their game with Louis Daniels turning Sol Pope to get in a shot that whizzed past the post.
The Wroxham defence was opened up again and a cross from the left was headed over by Jake Anema.
Wroxham were by no means out of it as a shot from Tim Cary was diverted for a corner and another effort from the same player was well saved by George Pledger in the Mattishall goal.
Mattishall's physical play was shown when centre back Stefan Gilding was booked for a foul on Wroxham mid-fielder Rob Turner who required treatment.
Wroxham contributed to their problems at the back when Sutton's throw did not reach the intended player and fell for Daniels who lobbed back towards goal requiring a last ditch clearance by Sol Pope.
As the ball was cleared Mattishall won a free kick and George Watts-Sturrock's low shot was a repeat of the opening goal going straight through the Wroxham defence and past Sutton on 43 minutes.
This was a disappointment as Wroxham had largely contained the home side and to go two down was a bitter blow.

Wroxham went further behind shortly after half time when Gilding headed across goal where Lee Moran duly converted with a straight forward header. Then Watts-Sturrock found himself free on the right and fired low across goal into the far corner to make it four.
The young Wroxham side seemed shell-shocked and low in confidence as it looked to be only a matter of time before Mattishall scored again. However they did a good job in containing the home side until they gave away an own goal in the final 10 minutes. A corner on the left was close to the near post where Cain Eagleton could only back head in the far corner.
Wroxham didn't give up and had a couple of chances near the end. A great shot from Tyler Curran was spilled by the keeper and Cary seemed certain to score but was unable to convert the follow up.
This was Wroxham's 5th straight defeat and four games in which they have failed to find the net.
