In a hectic opening spell both sides had chances to score.
Keeper Ollie Sutton was forced into action in the 1st minute saving a shot from former Yachtsman James Bulman and a couple of minutes later, Bulman turned provider but his through ball set up another ex-Yachtman Aaron Sanders who dragged his shot wide of the target.
Despite Acle having majority of the play, Wroxham looked dangerous on the break and following a corner by Sam Groves after Acle keeper Scott Foreman denied Tim Cary, Jordon Attree's header hit the side netting. Sutton again had to be alert to deny Bulman.
Although the home side continued to press forward at the other end, only a timely tackle from Press prevented Wroxham from opening the scoring and in another good Wroxham move instigated by Marcus Wilkinson he squared to Tim Cary and Foreman had to make another instinctive save to stop the ball entering the net.
Acle had their best chance of the game so far on the half-hour mark. Bulman’s shot was well saved by Sutton with the rebound blasted over the bar from 6 yards by Sanders. It could easily have been 3-3 at that stage.
The deadlock was finally broken just a minute before half time when T Henery was brought down in the penalty area; Bulman confidently slammed the spot-kick past Sutton, to put Acle in front. However, the lead was almost short–lived as the Tyler Curran set up Cain Eagleton whose shot hit the base of the post and Attree shot over from the rebound.

The second half followed a similar pattern with both sides having chances and Wroxham still looking dangerous with quick counter-attacks denying Acle any real chances. From one of these they won a corner and the ball fell for Eagleton who lobbed the ball over the top when a little more care might have produced a better result. In another move only a slight hesitation by young Wroxham sub Will Bennett allowed the home side to clear the ball for a corner. Although Chris Sutton came on for the final 10 minutes the hosts saw out the remaining minutes to collect all three points.
Hopefully this performance against one of the top sides will be a confidence boost for Wroxham who slipped further down the table and will soon need to start picking up points to avoid being drawn into a battle with the teams below them.
