After two good wins against Long Stratton and Cromer, the quarter final meeting with neighbours Spixworth ended with a 2-0 defeat as a goal in each half put paid to any hope of making further progress.
Wroxham had a couple of early chances with a free-kick that just cleared the bar and another free-kick that hit the post and fell back into the 'keepers arms.
But Spixworth soon took control and went ahead on 22 minutes when a determined run by Jason Armes took him to the byline and he pulled the ball back for team boss Damian Didwell to finish with a simple side foot past Ollie Sutton.
Spixworth almost had a second when Danny Brown played in Didwell whose neat dink almost beat Sutton who got a leg on the ball to clear.
Wroxham were restricted to a few efforts most of which lacked much real chance of causing any problems for the Spixworth defence. A long range shot from Sam Groves went just wide and a cross from Marcus Wilkinson and a clever dummy by Tim Cary saw the ball fall to Jordan Attree who also shot wide.

The second half started off in much the same manner with Wroxham passes going astray all too often as Spixworth dominated and had two efforts cleared off the line. A free kick from Danny Pennell hit the bar but soon after Spixworth went two ahead with a shot from Danny Brown that hit the net although Sutton did manage to get a hand on it.
Brown almost scored again following a free-kick from Kaine Taylor as he rounded Sutton but needed too much time and shot wide.
Wroxham did rally after this and put Spixworth under considerable pressure without creating any clear chances. Some poor refereering caused caused further frustration and despite Spixworth being reduced to 10 men Wroxham were unable to get back in the game.
This was a very disappointing result and with it a third consecutive defeat. Confidence is low and Wroxham will now have to pick themselves up to avoid a difficult period ahead.
