Wroxham progressed to the last eight to reverse the score line against the same opponents in the competition last season. With Jordan Attree called up to the 1st team and another player apparently deciding to improve himself elsewhere, the young Yachtsmen called up Robbie Turner and Tommy Knight from the U18’s to fill the gap.
Two first half goals from Danny Rogers and Elliott Wesby with a third from Matty Doyle gave Wroxham a commanding lead before Cromer pulled back a consolation in the last minute.
Wroxham had an early chance to go ahead when Matty Doyle was played through but he delayed his shot and ‘keeper Howes did well to spread himself and make a good save.
It was wasn’t long before the visitors did take the lead when Danny Rogers rounded Paul Bradshaw and shot across Howes into the far side on 4 minutes.
Cromer came back as Ollie Sutton did well to block a shot off his legs to deny Josh Halliday.
Then Wroxham had another chance when Doyle released Elliott Wesby with only the ‘keeper to beat but his effort went wide.
Wroxham were playing well but after Tyler Curran fouled a Cromer player on the edge of the area, The Crabs almost equalised when Ben Graver’s goal bound shot was brilliantly turned over by Sutton.
The visitors responded straight away and got a corner at the other end. A long ball to the far post was headed back by Ben Lewis across goal and Elliott Wesby was on hand to force it over the line.

A great shot by Cain Eagleton brought an equally impressive save from Howes as Wroxham forced the pace at the start of the seconf half.
Wroxham soon added to their lead when Roger’s slide rule pass set up Matty Doyle who rounded the ‘keeper to score.
Another good move saw Rogers pass to Doyle on the left who set up Wesby who was again narrowly wide.
Wroxham were mostly in control with Ben Lewis dominant and heading for the next round but Cromer scored a consolation in the last minute when Ben Graver’s back header from a corner found the far corner.
