Young Yachtsmen upset by send-off

Young Yachtsmen upset by send-off

Chris Green18 Oct 2014 - 20:11

This game turned following a controversial send-off on 40 minutes for new boy Danny Bacon with Wroxham in a comfortable position two goals ahead.

Bacon was harshly sent off for tangling with former Wroxham player Matty Eves apparently from the view of an assistant goaded by the Cromer bench.
After a cagey opening, the best chance feel to Wroxham when Bacon played in Danny Rogers who ran on but with only Cromer ‘keeper John Howes to beat carried the ball too far allowing Howes to smother the opportunity.
Then The Yachtsmen should have scored when Tim Cary did all the hard work to create an opening but shot wide.
A long range effort from Cain Eagleton also drifted wide as Wroxham started to take charge.
The home side deservedly took the lead on 17 minutes with a move started by another new boy Dejan Dimitrovski which found Cary in space and this time he rounded the ‘keeper and guided the ball into an empty net.
Soon after a corner from Cromer’s David Harwood hit the post but Wroxham broke away and a lovely pass from Eagleton found Rogers who scampered thro’ only to shoot tamely at Howes.
It wasn’t long before Wroxham scored a second when a cross found Luke Priestly who unleashed a spectacular effort past Howes into the top corner. Wroxham were seemingly in complete in complete command but were then reduced to 10 men when Bacon tangled with Eves who had instigated the situation. An innocuous retaliation upset the Cromer bench and on the view of the assistant the Wroxham player was harshly sent off.
Cromer took advantage and pulled one back just before half time when Harwood played a lovely pass through to Karl Horton who neatly lobbed Sutton into the net.

Cromer made a lively start to the second half and Michaell Warnes headed over when perhaps he should have done better from a free header.
10 man Wroxham were forced into a more defensive shape but were mainly coping well with all that Cromer had to offer despite some obvious tiring legs.
However an equaliser came out of the blue when David Harwood hit an excellent low 35 yader that found the bottom corner with Sutton at full stretch unable to get near it.
Wroxham came back and had a good chance when Eagleton tried his luck but the ball sailed away from the far post. The same player had another chance but his toe poaked effort also went just past the post.
Wroxham finished strongly and almost got the winner when a good cross from Tyler Curan found Cary whose header was well saved by Howes and the home side had to settle for a point.
