A confidence boosting brace for Aaron Sanders and one from Luke Priestly put Wroxham in a commanding position with two goals from former Wroxham player Danny Pennell and Kaine Taylor making for a tight end to the game.
Wroxham started positively and an early corner from Matty Doyle saw Same Groves shot sail just over. Then a shot from Doyle was spilled by Kai Hewitt another ex-Wroxham player at the near post but there was no one on hand to take advantage.
But Hewitt next pulled off a good save to tip over a shot from Luke Priestly. Wroxham’s ‘keeper Ollie Sutton had little to do until he had to make a fine diving save to turn aside a shot from Sam Gauntlet.
Wroxham took the lead on 18 minutes when a clever jink by Sanders opened up space on the edge of the box and he shot into the bottom corner past Hewitt.
Spixworth came back and hit the post but Wroxham were still playing some good football and increased their lead on 40 minutes. Hewitt palmed away a shot and Luke Priestly was on hand to tap in.

It might have been expected that the visitors would come out all guns blazing but apart from a shot which Sutton got a hand to turn round they didn’t offer to much of a threat. Wroxham still looked confident as a good run and shot from full-back Dylan Daniels looked to go close but hit the side netting.
The home side eventually made it 3 nil with another well worked move as the ball was played out to Sanders on the edge of the area and he curled a lovely shot round the ‘keeper for an uplifting goal.
However the game turned from Wroxham’s point of view on 70 minutes when Ben Lewis was sent off for tripping Danny Brown which the referee clearly saw as the last man denying a goal scoring opportunity. Indeed the goal came as Danny Pennell took the free-kick and managed to get round the Wroxham wall into the bottom corner.
This lifted the visitors who piled on the pressure as Sutton did well to turn over a shot from Pennell and then made another good save from the same player.
Wroxham made substitutions but were still being pegged back apart from some sorties into the Spixworth half with Laurence York prominent although he had to take a booking for one hard tackle on an opponent.
Spixworth then made it more uncomfortable by scoring a second when Kaine Taylor hit a screamer in the top corner giving Sutton no chance on 83 minutes.
Despite further attacks and one where Jody Peacher headed over, Wroxham held on for a deserved win.
