In reality, the score could have been much higher as the visitors missed three or four good chances before the opening goal and the Wroxham goal led a charmed life at times.
Without Shaun Howes, Wroxham found it difficult to get any sort of rhythm going as shown at Norwich CEYMS last Saturday and bottom side Wymondham couldn’t believe the amount of space they were given. In the first ten minutes they had at least four good scoring opportunities but some poor finishing and desperate defending held them out. As Wroxham seemed to have weathered the storm Lewis McKerell took full advantage of another chance to ram the ball past Aaron Cranfield from 10 yards on 15 minutes.
Although the pitch was a little bumpy, Wroxham couldn’t get going at all and their only chances in the first half came from a Laurence York free-kick which was turned round by Gareth Motteram at his near post and a shot from Cain Eagleton set up by Matt Doyle which sailed over.

The second half was no better for the home side and only a good point blank save from Cranfield and a couple of shots cleared off the line, saved them from going further behind.
The closest Wroxham came was just near the end, following a good run by Daniel Broom, who looked the home side’s liveliest performer, which was forced behind for a corner. The cross came over and was forced onto the bar but the visitors managed to clear.
Wroxham had no further chances and with Beccles & Loddon both losing still really need one more win to ensure they stay up.
This was Manager Kaine Challen’s last game in charge before a holiday in Australia and he must have been disappointed by the team’s performance.
