Wroxham again relied on a very young side against an experience Spixworth team but came away with a 2-0 win both goals scored by Jack Guyton.
Guyton scored just before half time with a crisp shot and midway through the second half with a bit of luck as Spixworth ‘keeper Ross Billham fumbled a weak shot into his own net.
Wroxham soon got their passing game going and looked comfortable in the opening salvos. They had the best chance of opening the score when a good move saw Luke Priestly in a good position but he delayed his chance of getting in a short to lay the ball off to Jack Smith who was better placed. Unfortunately Smith’s short was weak and straight at Bilham.
Spixworth gained a corner which went across goal beating everyone and going out of play. Then a poor kick by Wroxham ‘keeper Kingsley Barnes went straight to former Wroxham player Kaine Taylor but his return shot was straight at a relieved Barnes.
A good Spixworth move down the left resulted in a cross which which reached Danny Brown who headed over.
Spixworth were beginning to get on top as Matt Elwin’s set up Brown with a fine pass but the striker blazed over.
Wroxham scored just before half-time when Priestley’s cross found Guyton on the right and he found space t0 get in a low shot which squeezed in near the post and Bilham unable to get to it.

The second half turned into a scrappy affair with Wroxham able to contain the best the home side could throw at them. Their best effort came when Jason Armes crossed for Scott Sell to get in a shot which drifted away from the far post. Danny Brown had a couple of headers which both went aimlessly over as Spixworth became more frustrated and a couple of players went in the referees book.
They were even more rattled when Wroxham scored a second on 70 minutes as Guyton's shot from the edge of the area found the net. The Wroxham player turned on the edge of the area and hit a fairly weak shot which Bilham could only fumble into his own net.
Spixworth tried to get back in the game but their efforts were pretty tame as Wroxham bought on their subs to frustrate the home side.
There were no further clear chances as Wroxham were happy to play the game out and complete their second win in 2014 which saw them jump another couple of places up the table out of trouble.
