Wroxham took an early lead before the home side to draw level midway through the half only for the visitors to restore their lead straight away and then miss further clear chances before the break. Saints drew level from a harshly awarded free-kick and then took the lead on 75 minutes. Then referee Thurbin spoilt a keenly fought game with three late dismissals.
Despite another set of changes to the starting line-up, Wroxham soon got into their passing rhythm and were playing some neat football. Sam Neal took the eye and it was from his cross on 8 minutes they took the lead. Neal advanced down the right to get in a perfect low cross into the path of Jack Guyton who slid the ball home.
Another cross from Neal on 12 mins caused all sorts of problems in the Saints defence before finally being hacked away. And a long range shot from Laurence Yorkhad the keeper stepping back to save.
Neal was in action again to bring a full length save from the Saints keeper as Wroxham kept up the pressure supported by a strong wind down the pitch. Then Wroxham had three more efforts which all went close from Paul Cook’s header, another from Elliot Wesby and Jack Guyton missing a certain goal when it seemed easier to score.
Wroxham paid for those misses when a defensive mistake on 34 minutes as Lewis Butcher ran on to slide the ball under Cranfield and equalise.
Almost immediately Wroxham regained the lead with another excellent cross from Neal which Wesby headed home at the far post.
The influential Laurence York then pulled up with an ankle injury and he was replaced by Shaun Howes as Wroxham had to regroup.

With the wind behind them, St Andrews pressed forward after the break and a goal bound effort from Chris Priest was headed away by Paul Cook. Then a header from Butcher from Tom Mustapha’s cross hit the post. Aaron Cranfield made a good save to deny Butcher and did well to pounce on the loose ball. Wroxham were weathering the storm when referee Thurbin who was not winningg two many friends from either side awarded a free-kick against Shaun Howes on the edge of the area when he appeared to head away fairly under a challenge. From the free-kick Lewis Butcher’s low shot found the bottom corner to equalise again.
A curling shot from Armando Alves hit the bar as Wroxham again fought back and a shot from Mustapha flashed past the post at the other end. St Andrews thought they had taken the lead when No 3 converted from a corner but his celebrations were cut short as the goal was disallowed.
However Saints were rewarded when a 20 yarder from Alex Ingham found the net on 75 minutes.
Wroxham brought on Jordon Attree but he was only on the pitch for a short while as tempers rose mainly from some strange decisions by the officials. First Cain Eagleton was shown a second yellow and then Attree tangled with Saints No three who was shown a red card and Wroxham were reduced to 9 as the substitute was also given a red.
This spoilt a very competitive game.
