Goals in each half, the first an own goal and the second a debut goal for 16 year old Danny Rogers ensured the points, despite the home side pulling one back and the young Yachtsmen having to survive a late onslaught.
The visitors had an early scare when Tom Marsden came out to take a long punt but dropped the ball and for a moment it looked as though Caister would take advantage until Jack Houghton cleared.
Wroxham soon got into their stride with some neat passing and took the lead in the 8th minute. Referee Garrod correctly awarded a free-kick for a back pass just to the right of the six yard box. Laurence York smashed the ball against the wall and it was put behind for a corner. A good cross from Marcus Wilkinson fell in the danger area and a Caister defender tried to clear but was only able to send the ball into the roof of the net for an own goal.
The Lifeboatmen fought back and following a foul by Jack Guyton, they were awarded a free kick on the edge of the area. The initial kick was punched clear by Marsden but only to Matt Lines who drove the ball back and the Wroxham ‘keeper made a fine save.
Garrett Ward for Caister was causing some problems for Wroxham youngster Elliot Fyans with his pace and from one of his crosses Jamie Long fired over.
Wroxham made a tactical change with Liam Brock brought over to stem the threat from Ward on 30 minutes as Caister were getting on top. But this did nothing to stop referee Garrod from awarding a penalty to the home side when he adjudged that Laurence York had deliberately handled the ball on 32 minutes. Fortunately for Wroxham, Ward was not up to the task as he shot over.
The visitors were using Wilkinson as an outlet down the left and a couple of times he managed to get away but his crosses were not delivered with the same authority although one had home keeper Liam Hembling back-pedalling to take. The visitors just about deserved their half-time lead.

There was an early chance for Wroxham in the second half when Wilkinson cut in and shot on his weaker right foot but his effort was blocked with the ball falling for Fernando Vide whose return shot was well saved.
However, the young Yachtsmen did add to their lead on 50 minutes when Wilkinson set Danny Rogers away and he neatly tucked his side foot shot under the keeper.
As before, Caister came back but their finishing was a little more wayward when Lines shot wide. Wroxham were coming under increasing pressure but were defending resolutely with Marsden not called to make any significant saves. But referee Garrod then made the game more interesting by not picking up a clear foul on Wroxham sub Shaun Blyth in mid-field. This allowed Caister to get forward and Jason Thompson struck with a well hit left shot across goal that came off the far post before entering the net to make the score 2-1 on 65 mins.
Then Marsden who was by this time carrying an injury and unable to kick the ball, pulled off an excellent save to turn Anton Ward’s shot onto the bar and over. This was followed by a header off the bar by Blake Robinson as Caister went in search of an equaliser.
But it was not to be as Wroxham held out for the win.
