Reserves only get a point

Chris Green6 Oct 2013 - 20:24

Once again the Reserves played some good football and at times dominated play with their passing but were only able to take a point from lowly Caister.

Before the game Wroxham were presented with a new kit from Aquaterra Energy by Kevin Attree and we are most grateful for their support.
Olly Sutton had to pull off a double point blank save in the opening minutes from Caister’s No 9 and No 10 respectively.
At the other end the Caister ‘keeper made a full length diving save to deny Laurence York’s 30 yarder entering the net.
Another good Wroxham move saw Jordan Attree’s shot drift wide on 15 minutes.
Then Luke Priestly turned inside an opponent to get in a shot which was again well saved by the ‘keeper.
Caister looked much better than their position in the table showed and went close when No 7 shot into the side neeting.
The visitor’s had another chance when their lively No 9 got through and attempted to curl his shot past Sutton who got a hand to it and turned the shot onto the inside of the post and Wroxham survived.
Soon after the home side were to lose Sol Pope with a dislocated shoulder and as I had to take him to hospital the remaining notes for this game are a bit sketchy.
While Pope was receiving treatment Caister broke away and scored a good goal through Jordan Thompson to give them the lead.
HT Wroxham Res 0 Caister 1
Wroxham continued to play some attractive football but chances came and went.
Caister were reduced to 10 men when referee Ricky Owen sent off one of their players during an altercation.
Wroxham equalised through an an own goal and had plenty of chances to go on and win the game.
When I returned it was not apparent Caister were down to 10 as they seemed to be playing in the spirited style before my departure and had a couple of chances themselves.
In the end both teams had to settle for a draw.
