Pav's pupils give new boys a lesson

Wroxham Reserves put in an effectual performance and paid the price with a late goal winner by a determined Reepham Town who maintained their 100% start to the season.

Both sides were missing key players and it showed with some poor disjointed play throughout the game.
Reepham who were mentored by new Wroxham 1st team manager Pawel Guziejko clear came with a game plan to frustrate the young Yachtsmen.
Wroxham lost Olly Sutton midway through the first half with an injury and he was replaced by Ollie Ebbage who soon had to be on his guard to stop a couple of pepper shot from the visititors although there was little other action in a dull first half.

Wroxham’s best chance came early in the second half when Aaron Sanders cut in to set up Matt Doyle whose shot was inches away from going in.
Passes continued to go astray with neither side able to breakdown the other’s defence and Reepham’s man to man marking frustrated the home side.
Reepham started to get forward more often and their No 9 Mark George hit a spectacular shot from 30 yards which almost caught Ebbage off guard but he was able to get enough lift to turn the shot onto the bar.
Midway through the half there were chances at both ends as the visitors put pressure on the Wroxham defence and it seemed they must score in one goalmouth scramble. But Wroxham held firm and broke to the other end where Matty Doyle was clear and his shot came off the keeper’s legs to be turned round.
A long range shot from Shaun Howes was also well saved by the keeper as he was unsighted.
With time running out and some of the visitors players showing signs of cramp they made a concerted effort to go for a winner. It came in the 87th minute with a speculative shot from Keiron Harrison out on the right whose long cross caught out Ebbage at the far post and drifted in.
Wroxham pressed forward in search of an equaliser and were almost caught out again when Mark George outpaced Shade to run clear and with only Ebbage to beat, he shot wide.
Wroxham will need to pick themselves up from a second successive odd goal defeat and face a difficult task next Saturday against a resurgent St Andrews who held Sterry Cup holders Acle yesterday.
