The young Yachstmen consisting mainly U21 players got off to a bright start and might have done better when a good exchange between Jordan Attree and Ben Lewis set the latter free but a bad bounce foiled the Wroxham player just as he was about to pull the trigger.
Wroxham paid for this on 15 minutes when the home side who comprised an abundance of Norwich Utd U18’s won a corner and scored with a bizarre goal. The flag kick taken by Jimmy Baxter was weak and should have been cleared at the near post but somehow it the net by the far post.
Wroxham were playing some decent football with Saints happy to soak up pressure and break on the counter which they did quite well down the flanks causing the visitors defence a few problems. Jamie George set up Danny Boswell on 20 mins whose first time shot was well struck but Luke Fish got across to save.
Wroxham had a great chance moments later when Jack Smith’s curling free kick set up a free header for George on a plate but he headed over.
St Andrews remained dangerous on the break and won a free-kick themselves on the edge of the penalty area for a foul by Rio Starkings. Tim Henry’s free-kick brought a smart save from Andrew Plummer diving to his left.
A snap shot from Henry soon brought another fine save from Plummer. At the other end, George played in Attree with a neat pass but the youngster was just wide with his shot.

Plummer immediately had to make a point blank save to deny Saints sub Lewis Brock soon after the break but Wroxham started to get op top.
Good play saw Attree release Smith who fired over but was adjudged offside.
Aaron Sanders replaced Ali Durrant who had had a torrid time stopping a pacy Saints winger down the left. Sanders was soon in the action as Wroxham pressed for an equaliser. George was hauled down on the edge of the area and from the resulting free kick taken by Jack Smith the visitors had several chances as the ball ricochet around the area before Smith himself fired over.
A strong shot from George was well taken by the keeper but as Wroxham huffed and puffed it was clear it was not going to be their day and Saints held on to take the points.
