Wroxham took the lead on 3 mins with tremendous shot from Danny Self that took a deflection but ended in the top corner. The homes side were playing some good football but allowed Kirkley back in the game on 24 mins when home keeper Still played the ball to his fullback Ali Durrant who was put under pressure and his return pass fell short allowing Alex Holmes to take advantage and he made no mistake by slotting in the net.
Wroxham restored their lead on 40 mins when Kirkley’s Chris Bond was sent off for bringing down Jamie George on the edge of the area. Danny Self took the free kick and unlike his first goal he did not get a good connection but the ball bobbled towards goal and somehow deceived Kirkley keeper Aiden Lowe to nestle in the bottom corner.
In the second period Wroxham took advantage of Kirkley’s reduced number and started to gain full control of the game. A brilliant run by Dave Hinton saw him waltz past several Kirkley defenders before picking his spot to make it 3-1. However Still was called into action with a full length save from Holmes but the resulting corner was headed over. In the main it was all Wroxham who were able to give all their subs a run out. Wroxham played some neat football and Ben Jones went close when his shot was saved off the keeper’s legs but there was no further addition to the scoreline.
