Wroxham took the lead in the 10th minute, Matt Halliday rising highest to power home a superb header from Aaron Sanders’ corner, before Cooper restored parity 60 seconds later with a slick finish after Wroxham lost possession in their own half.
Joe Marsden headed wide from another Sanders’ delivery as the home side were on top, before Sanders’ himself worked a great opening but could only strike weakly at Will Viner in goal.
Wroxham couldn’t find a goal and Cheshunt punished them, Omer Riza digging out a great ball on 57 minutes to find Bossman, who headed in when free from six yards to make it 2-1 to Cheshunt.
And this would be how it would stay as Wroxham made it nine games without a win, dropping deeper into the relegation battle in a poor afternoon for The Yachtsmen.
Wroxham made one change from the side that drew at Brentwood, with Jack Guyton replacing Sam Harty in the starting XI, who dropped to the bench.
Both sides made a nervy start – with passes going astray as both relinquished possession on numerous occasions - before two goals in a minute set the game alight.
Wroxham drew blood first, winning a 10th minute corner after some good wing play from Remy Gordon with Aaron Sanders delivering a lofted ball in, Matt Halliday towering above the rest to plant his header into the top left corner and give his side the lead.
But they didn’t hold the lead for long, Wroxham again guilty of gifting possession to the opposition in their own defensive third 60 seconds later, Sam Groves losing the ball after a short pass from Robert Juhasz to give Josh Cooper the chance, who duly slotted his effort into the bottom left corner from the edge of the box for 1-1.
The game was settling into a very compact affair, with neither side really able to gain the ascendancy.
Wroxham were controlling the ball better and playing more in attack, Stephen Drake blazing over from the edge of the box when well placed from Tim Cary’s clever flick, before Sanders had a deflected effort that Cheshunt goalkeeper Will Viner plucked out the air with ease.
Cary was Wroxham’s best player, the winger being set free by Gordon’s through ball on the half hour mark but took one touch too many, the chance being snuffed out by some stout defending.
Joe Marsden then headed wide from another dangerous Sanders corner, before Gordon worked himself some space on the edge of the box with some nifty footwork but could only fire his fierce shot straight at Viner as Wroxham were on top.
Cheshunt were rarely threatening but were almost in with seconds remaining of the half, Omer Riza – who was the away side’s most likely source of an opening – finding space to lay in Allen Bossman, who’s touch let him down when clear in the box to lose the chance and keep it level at the break.
The home side came out confident after the break, Gordon setting up Drake with a searing run, the striker flicking his effort straight at Viner from six yards out.
Wroxham were finding space frequently, Aaron Sanders showing some superb footwork on the edge of the box on 50 minutes to create a great opening, the young midfielder only able to hit a bobbling effort that was easily stopped by Viner down to his left.
Despite The Yachtsmen’s superiority, the away side stole the lead as Riza produced a moment of class with 57 minutes on the clock.
The striker created space on the right to dig out a lovely ball in, Allen Bossman finding himself free from eight yards out to pick his spot with a header that gave Juhasz no chance.
Riza was constantly probing on the last defender, the striker seemingly grabbing a third for his side as he dinked over Juhasz, only for the linesman to raise his flag in tight circumstances.
Pawel Guziejko thrust on two strikers to give his side a more attacking feel, with Daniel Broom and Matt Doyle replacing Cary and Drake.
Despite this, it was the away side were more the more confident going forward, Juhasz producing a fantastic fingertip save to keep it at 2-1 as Cooper took the ball down from 25 yards before unleashing a lovely dipping volley that look destined for the top corner.
Wroxham were struggling to find that spark as Cheshunt were holding strong, before Daniel Broom had a great chance to level matters with nine minutes left.
A high ball down the left found Matt Doyle, who laid across for Gordon to have an attempt that was stifled out by Viner, before the ball squirted out to Broom from six yards out who struck towards goal, only for his effort to be blocked on the line.
Matt Doyle couldn’t get enough purchase on his header from Gordon’s free kick as Wroxham were streaming forward in search of an equaliser, but all their efforts would be in vain as Cheshunt held out, leaving Wroxham in 22nd with just five games to play.
