Reynolds bagged his first on 15 minutes, the striker heading home George Wodward’s free kick under pressure from Robert Juhasz.
Both teams were struggling to play any real quality football, but it was the hosts who got the second goal five minutes into the second half, Reynolds again the man, confidently slotting home after Joe Oates’ through ball.
Tim Cary hit the bar for Wroxham as they searched for a way back into the game, before Paul Clayton sealed all three points for the home side, nodding in another Woodward cross in injury time to make it 3-0 and secure the win.
Wroxham will be disappointed with their display, with a lack of intensity and quality epitomising a poor day at the office for Pawel Guziejko’s men.
Danny Rust and Remy Gordon returned to the starting XI for Wroxham after missing Monday’s 1-1 draw with Barkingside, with Ben Price and Aaron Sanders missing.
Both sides made a very tentative start to proceedings, with many passes going astray in a scrappy initial period.
The Yachtsmen were the better on the ball, Daniel Self’s through ball finding Remy Gordon on the left after eight minutes, who’s brief sight of goal was well closed out by Atu Ngoy, who saved with his feet.
With neither side doing much in the final third, the hosts took the lead in rather innocuous circumstances.
George Woodward’s 15th minute free kick was whipped in, with Nick Reynolds finding himself free from six yards to beat Robert Juhasz to the ball, his header trickling into the corner of the net for 1-0.
Another Woodward set piece two minutes later almost doubled the home side’s advantage, Jack Barry beating his man at the back post to send his header just over the bar as Romford looked to press.
Wroxham were struggling to penetrate the Romford defence, Joe Marsden’s 25 yard effort that went well over the bar the best they could muster.
Ryan Imbert dinked over when well placed for the hosts, before Tom Richardson flicked on Reynolds’ long throw with five minutes remaining of the half, with nobody gambling at the back post in what would have been a sure tap in.
Reynolds then had another great chance as the game edged towards half time, the striker getting two bites at the cherry after Woodward’s corner was played back in, Robert Juhasz producing a fine fingertip save to deny the front man from six yards out.
Wroxham changed things up at half time, with Tim Cary replacing Ross Durrant – who picked up a knock on his foot during the first half – and Samuel Groves taking Danny Rust’s place at left back.
With the visitors looking to press in attack, Romford took advantage of the inevitable holes at the back to double their advantage on 51 minutes.
Reynolds was found in acres of space down the left by Joe Oates’ lovely through ball, the striker advancing into the box to keep his composure and slot the ball past Juhasz at the near post.
The Yachtsmen switched to three at the back in an attempt to give them more impetus going forward, but it was the home side who carried the bigger threat, Reynolds missing a good chance for his hat trick just before the hour mark with a weak effort from ten yards that went straight at Juhasz.
Wroxham were having some promising situations to no avail, Stephen Drake breaking down the right to pull back to Daniel Self, the midfielder’s touch letting him down on the edge of the box as the chance went away from him.
The hosts were looking fairly comfortable as the game entered the final 15 minutes, a couple of Woodward free kicks giving them promising positions that came to nothing, before Richardson went on a marauding run down the right, his shot flying past the near post.
Wroxham then produced their best piece of play to almost reduce their arrears on 78 minutes
Mac Gee won the ball in midfield before playing a lovely lofted ball to Marsden, the defender drilling the ball across the box before it fell to Cary, who chested the ball down and hit a dipping volley that bounced on top of the crossbar and over.
The game was suddenly stretched, Romford immediately going down the other end to carve open Wroxham’s defence, Danny Jones’ delightfully weighted through ball finding Imbert free from just inside the box, the striker only managing to lift his lobbed effort straight into the arms of Juhasz in a great chance to seal the game.
But they wouldn’t have to wait for long to secure all three points, another delightful ball in from Woodward doing the damage as substitute Paul Clayton beat Juhasz to the ball from four yards out to head home in injury time, sentencing Wroxham to their fifth loss in six games in an afternoon to forget for The Yachtsmen.
