The Yachtsmen this time found themselves on the wrong end of a 3-0 half time scoreline as the Abbots frontline, inspired by James Peagram, ripped through the Wroxham defence, with the visitors first half demolition of Peterborough Northern Star in the FA Cup last week a long distant memory.
Peagram scored his first after four minutes with a well taken goal, before doubling his tally after 25 minutes, capitalizing on some sloppy defensive play from Wroxham as their philosophy of playing from the back caught them out one too many times.
A 25 yard Tom Bruno free kick made it three just before the break, before Darrell Russell cemented the win on the hour mark, with Bruno’s late red card for the home side making no difference as the Abbots cruised to their fourth win of the season.
It was clearly a frustrating afternoon for the visitors, with Wroxham picking up five bookings and also having a Paul Cook goal disallowed for offside to compound their misery.
With big games against former manager David Batch’s AFC Sudbury and St Neots in the FA Cup coming up over the next week, manager Pawel Guziejko will have a job on his hands to lift his players after such a disappointing display.
