

But the scoreline was somewhat harsh on The Yachtsmen who fought hard throughout the game and It wasn't all plain sailing for the Millers after Wroxham had taken a 43rd minute lead following a wonder strike from Joe Marsden.
Then six second half goals ensured a comfortable victory for Aveley and a hat-trick for Ross Wall.
The home side who had enjoyed a good pre-season, started off well and should have been two or three goals up in the opening ten minutes but Wroxham stuck to their task in the opening period..
Shane Oakley latched onto a short back-pass before rounding the goalkeeper only to strike the post with his effort.
Moment’s later debutant Sos Yao also went around the goalkeeper but with the ball stuck under his feet he couldn't quite find the direction to steer into the empty net. The same player then had another chance but Wroxham keeper Scott Cruickshank made a good save on his debut.
After weathering the early storm Wroxham started to get in the game with an adventurous 3-5-2 formation and Sam Harty and Remy Gordon showing some promising touches.
As confidence built the visitors took a surprising lead just before the break. Harty set Joe Marsden away and with no one around him he carried the ball forward before unleashing a rocket past Giddens that nestled in the bottom corner to the give the visitors the lead.

Whatever Aveley Manager Justin Gardner said to his players at half-time, it had the desired effect as they stormed into The Yachtsmen straight after the break.
Wall had already had the ball in the back of the net a few moments earlier, only to see the linesman’s flag rule it out, but there no flag when Wall put the Millers back on level terms after heading in a free kick from about six yards out on 48 minutes.
Then Yao gave the hosts the lead three minutes later cutting inside before curling his shot in off the post to give the Millers the lead.
With luck on their side, Aveley scored a third on 57 minutes when Wall shaped to cross towards the far post, but the ball went straight over the head of Cruickshank to make it 3-1.
Wall then completed his hat-trick, tapping in from close range after a low cross on 62 minutes. The Millers had certainly hit a purple patch and substitute Anton Stephenson scored on his Millers debut on 73 minutes sending Cruickshank the wrong way.
In the dying seconds of injury time of injury time Wroxham were undone again. After Wroxham lost the ball in their own half Aveley charged forward and Wroxham sub Fernando Vide was adjudged by referee Ajibola to have brought Aaron Gayle although it did seem he had won the ball fairly. But Shane Oakley stepped up to convert the penalty which was awarded on 93 minutes.
Manager Pav Guzeijko will now have to pick up his players for another stern test against Maldon & Tiptree on Tuesday night who beat Brentwood Town 3-1 in their opening game.
