

A white-out an hour before kick-off almost caused this game to be postponed. In fact on first inspection Referee Block called the game off before Romford arrived but was persuaded by both managers to have a second look as the snow began to stop. He decided it could start but would be postponed if conditions became dangerous and kick off was delayed by five minutes.
Wroxham had new keeper Jake Jessup on loan from Lowestoft making his debut and skipper Gavin Lemmon passed a late fitness test.
Wroxham quickly adapted to the conditions as Matt Blake crossed for Ben Thompson whose header was on target but straight at Atu NGuy in goal for Romford. Then Blake was through and shot from a narrow angle into the side netting on 6 mins,
Both sides were coping quite well but the pitch was very boggy and soon cut up. The visitors almost took the lead on 16 minutes when Nick Reynolds shot was blocked on the lien by Danny Self.
Wroxham took the lead on 24 minutes with a superb strike from Matt Blake. The Wroxham striker turned to hit a left foot volley on the edge of the area that rattled into the top corner.
The home side almost added to their lead when Blake forced his way into the area but his shot was well parried by the Romford keeper.
The Yachtsmen were playing some lovely football given the conditions and Ross Durrant hit a great shot from 30 yards that brought a fine save from Nguy.
The visitors were certainly keen to make a game of it as Smith found himself in space but sliced his shot well wide of Jessup’s goal.
In first half injury time Wroxham scored a second through Andy Eastaugh who was on hand to tap in at the far post from a corner.

The pitch had certainly taken a pounding but referee Block decided to continue. The visitors supporters thought they had pulled one back shortly after half-time but the assistants flag was up for offside.
On 53 mintes Wroxham scored a third as Blake ran down the left before putting over a good delivery for Thompson who chested the ball down into the path of Ross Durrant to volley home from 10 yards.
Soon after Wroxham had their fourth when Thompson was brought down and Matt Daniels spot kick hit the top corner.
Thompson was then replaced by Paul Cook who soon got himself involved closing down on the Romford defenders as Wroxham were now well on top.
The home side scored a fifth on 67 minutes when Durrants shot was only parried by the keeper into the path of Blake who fired in his second.
Wroxham brought on further subs as Lewis replaced the injured Eastaugh and Forshaw came on for Lemmon.
Romford continued to fight and almost scored when Smith’s strike was deflected off the post by Self.
Wroxham went close again when Forshaw's effort on goal was tipped wide, but the Romford keeper was then injured and had to be replaced.
The sub keeper then brought off an excellent save to deny Forshaw with a one on one.
As the game closed out Romford had a couple more chances but Jessup made smart saves to ensure he kept a clean sheet.
Overall this was good performance by the Yachtsmen to complete their first double in the Ryman League.
