Wroxham manager David Batch welcomed back Michael Hilton in goal
along with Martin McNeil and Ben Thompson to the starting line up
following the Yachtsmen's 4-2 Ryman league cup win over Heybridge
Swifts on Tuesday evening for the visit of Thamesmead.
Wroxham dominated the first 20mins and they had the ball in the net
when a Matt Halliday shot crashed against the Thamesmead
crossbar, Ben Thompson finding the net from the rebound, Referee
Alex Guy disallowing the effort for pushing.
But it was Thamesmead who took the lead on 24mins when
Sean Roberts pounced on a McNeil mistake in defence to fire home.
Wroxham were still well on top with Christy Finch, Ben Thompson
and Ross Durrant all going close as the Yachtsmen went in search
of the equaliser in the opening half hour.
On 38mins Wroxham keeper Michael Hilton saved well from a
Sean Roberts effort before Thamesmead's Rob Carter was tripped
in the Yachtsmen penalty box, Ashley Probets fired home from
the spot to double his side's lead.
Thamesmead made it three on the stroke of half time when following
a scramble in the Wroxham box, Richard Butler was on hand to
poke the ball home.

Angelo Harrop replaced Martin McNeil at the interval before
Wroxham pulled a goal back shortly after the break when
ANDY EASTAUGH got the final touch as the ball pinged around
in the Thamesmead penalty box.
The Yachtsmen were still well on top and got themselves back
in the game on 53mins when BEN THOMPSON found the net
from a Ross Durrant corner kick.
Wroxham were level just before the hour mark Referee Guy
awarding a penalty from which MATT DANIELS fired the spot
kick home
On 65mins Yachtsmen keeper Hilton was on hand to deny
efforts from Enoch Adjei and Rob Carter for Thamesmead but
it was Wroxham now looking the more likely to score.
Following good work by Angelo Harrop, Thompson fired just
wide of the Thamesmead goal before Matt Daniels persistance
fashioned an opening for Ross Durrant who's shot was well
saved by keeper Rob Budd.
Wroxham made a double change on 72mins, Ben Lewis and
Christy Finch making way for Danny Self and Matt Blake.
As time ran down Wroxham were still looking the more
likely to take the three points as Thompson put his shot just
wide and Matt Blake squandered his effort.
But it was MATT BLAKE who would have the final say as the
Yachtsmen frontman was on hand to fire home for Wroxham
in stoppage time to the delight of the home faithful.
