With other clubs around them also winning, The Yachtsmen’s position is now looking precarious as they have been left adrift at the bottom.
Romford’s Chinedu McKenzie opened the scoring in the 22nd minute before doubling his and Romford’s score from the penalty spot in the 36th minute after Kai Bichard was fouled.
But Wroxham had chances and could easily have been level at the interval with a bit more luck. Gilfedder had 2 good chances one a shot with his left foot when he got clear which flashed past the post. Another powerful shot hit the keeper on the chest and he didn’t know much about it.
Cruize Nyadzayo also had a good opportunity when well-placed but shot wide.
In the second half, Wroxham were well off the pace as the home side scored again and then benefitted from a strange decision by the officials which always seems to go against you when at the bottom.
Nick Reynolds grabbed a third six minutes after the restart, tapping home a cross and this goal took the Boro striker level as record goal scorer for the home side.
Ross Gilfedder pulled one back from the spot in the 57th minute for Wroxham after a foul in the penalty area.
Then McKenzie grabbed his hat-trick with a somewhat bizarre decision by the officials. Everyone had stopped with the offside flag up but after a discussion, the goal was given with the Wroxham players bemused.
This result was a big blow although when Wroxham did play from back as opposed to the long ball they looked much better and may have to revise their tactics for future games.
New signing Armani Schaar made a promising start but didn’t get much service in the 2nd half and faded out of the game.
