The Yachtsmen had a disastrous start and were one down inside 4 minutes. A fierce shot was parried by Elliot Pride but fell straight into the path of Brentwood striker Andy Freeman who gleefully side footed in to give the visitors the lead.
Brentwood had another similar chance minutes later as again Pride parried a shot but this time there was no one to follow up.
However the visitors were two up around the 20 minute mark when Freeman was again on hand to turn in a simple chance after Sam Gauntlett on his debut was unable to clear.
The young Wroxham side were all at sea and manager Damian Hilton made his first change taking off Cruise Nyadzayo and bringing on Mark Wilkinson.
Wroxham did improve and had a great chance when Ross Gilfedder cleverly chipped over the advancing ‘keeper but he didn’t have the pace to turn the ball in as it went out of play.
Matt Cook also had a storming run through the Brentwood defence but one defender recovered to clear just as the Wroxham player was about to turn the ball in.
The second half did see an improvement with Matt Halliday hitting the crossbar from a corner and Wroxham trying to get back in the game.
Ben Lewis was booked as he broke up another attack but it was almost inevitable that Brent wood would score again which they did in the 57th minute when Marcus Milner ran through to slide the ball past Pride.
Hilton made further changes bringing on Jordan Attree for Datacampol on his return to the club and he soon showed more aggression. Liam Clayton replaced Ross Gilfedder.
But as time passed Brentwood were able to soak up any attempts Wroxham had to score and were totally in control and almost showboating at times.
In the 89th minute they almost had a 4th when sub Luke Foster went on a good run but his final shot across goal was off target.
This was a poor performance from the Wroxham players and they will need to lift themselves for the next game at Thamesmead who are the team immediately above them.
