An inconsistent Wroxham face a daunting trip to Thamesmead Town this weekend. Following a run of 3 defeats in 5 games, Wroxham embark on one of their longest away trips to the side that currently sit in 7th place in the league.

Having failed to find the net on their last two outings, Manager Stewart Larter will be looking for his attacking players to step up and find the back of the net. Wroxham’s last two goals were scored by their centre-half pairing of Ollie Ebbage and Matt Halliday away at Redbridge. One of the players, Larter will be hoping to perform is Jamie Forshaw. The forward this week committed himself to the Yachtsmen by signing a new contract with the club. This followed talk of other clubs being interested in Forshaw, however he was pleased to put pen to paper to remain at Trafford Park.

Last weekend the Yachtsmen were on the wrong end of a four goal thrashing as they came up against one of the league’s early pacesetters. A hat-trick from George Purcell and a goal by David Knight were enough to see AFC Hornchurch return home to Essex in good spirits. Meanwhile, Wroxham were rueing that they had 5 potential defenders missing through injury or unavailability. One player that did play was new signing Lewis Sturman who has recently joined Wroxham from local rivals Dereham Town. Whilst it was not a debut that the former Norwich City Youth team player had hoped for, he did bring some much needed experience to the Wroxham backline.

Wroxham hope to have a number of those players who missed last week’s game back in the matchday squad. Andy Howell is nearing a return from a long lay-off and is expected back in the squad. Also possible returnees are Jackson Ramm, Stephen Taylor, Jack Garrod and Nathan Stone.
