Wroxham started well and went ahead on 27 minutes through Remy Gordon’s driven effort after some combative play from Danny White.
The Yachtsmen were looking good on the ball – with Gordon striking into the side netting in their best opening - but had to be wary of their opponents presence in the final third, Sam Bantick firing just wide and Tom Richardson being denied by a superb Andy Howell block on the stroke of half time.
Brentwood were the enforcers in the second half - Bantick testing Elliot Pride twice -before they levelled terms on 65 minutes through Richardson’s header.
The visitors were in the ascendancy as the game edged towards full time, with Louis Braucutt’s testing Pride in the only real chance as both teams had to settle for a draw.
Stewart Larter’s men will be happy to come away from the game with a point, with a Brentwood side brimming with confidence testing the defensive steel of Wroxham for most of the second period, to which they answered amicably throughout the half.
The Yachtsmen made one change from the side that beat Barkingside, with Danny White replacing Jordan King in midfield.
Stewart Larter’s men made a confident start to proceedings, carving out an opportunity in the first 30 seconds, Christy Finch finding space down the left to fire across for Jack Garrod, who blazed his effort over when free from eight yards.
Whilst Wroxham were controlling the ball better on the deck, their opponents were finding more joy in the form of set pieces.
Pride plucked a Bantick free kick that was flicked on by Robbie Rees out of the air, before producing a superb fingertip save on 10 minutes to deny Daryl Robson, who had expertly controlled a cleared Jack Gardner ball in down before volleying towards the top corner from 25 yards.
Brentwood were beginning to get more of a foothold in the game as it reached the 20 minute stage, Ben Price denying Richardson with a superb last ditch tackle when the striker was bearing down on goal.
Finch then had a testing 20 yard effort that Ollie Bowles saved with ease, before a quick Wroxham break – catalysed by a superb White challenge – gave the hosts the lead on 27 minutes.
White won the ball 30 yards from goal before finding Finch, the striker laying in Gordon who took a touch before firing past Bowles for 1-0.
The Wroxham winger was in again three minutes later, benefitting from Jamie Forshaw’s devilish ball in to sneak in at the back post, only to fire his first time effort just the wrong side of the post and into the side netting.
Brentwood were still looking dangerous down the other end, Bantick coming within inches of levelling matters on 32 minutes, the winger being released by Richardson, letting the ball come across his body before striking just wide of Pride’s left hand post.
With Wroxham seemingly in control as the game edged towards half-time, some sloppy play at the back on 44 minutes almost let their opponents in.
First Garrod and then David Hinton gave the ball away, with Bantick finding Louis Baucutt in space to fire across for Richardson with the goal at his mercy, the striker getting the ball stuck under his feet before finding an effort that was superbly blocked by a flying Andy Howell.
The second half started in a similar vein to the first, with numerous tit-for-tat exchanges making for a very tight period.
A swift counter attack for the hosts almost saw them double their lead on 50 minutes, Forshaw releasing Gordon down the left, the winger unleashing a superb effort that was destined for the top corner, only for Bowles to tip wide with panache.
The visitors started to push the Wroxham goal in search of an equaliser, with Bantick testing Pride twice in the space of a minute, the first from a lovely Sherwin Stanley flick that the ‘keeper save smartly, before a long range effort that was flicked over.
This resistance would prove to be futile though as the resulting corner saw the visitors restore parity.
Bantick’s 65th minute delivery found Richardson with the leap, the striker heading past Pride, off the bar and in despite Price’s best efforts on the line.
Brentwood were the better side as the game entered the last ten minutes, Louis Braucutt testing Pride at his near post that the ‘keeper stood up well to.
But this would prove to be the last chance as Wroxham held out for a point that keeps them above Brentwood in the Ryman North play-off positions and one that may be crucial for both sides come the end of the season.
