The win is The Yachtsmen’s eighth in the league in their last nine games, taking their goals tally to 58 for the season and giving them a solid five point cushion over 6th placed AFC Sudbury.
Stewart Larter made two changes from the side that crushed Burnham Ramblers 8-0 last Saturday, with Danny Rust and Jack Garrod replacing Nathan Stone and Ben Price in the starting XI.
They started with a supreme confidence that reflected their elevated position and they found themselves 1-0 up on 11 minutes.
Christy Finch found space from 18 yards to fire in an effort that was parried away by Rhys Madden, with Remy Gordon reacting quickest to slide the rebound into the back of the net.
Five minutes later it was 2-0 - Gordon again in the thick of it – the in-form winger striking an effort across goal that was superbly diverted in by the returning Garrod at the back post.
The Yachtsmen were looking menacing every time they attacked, whilst their play-off hopeful opponents were creating in fits and starts without too much in the way of threat.
A quick break away on the stroke of half time produced their best moment of an otherwise limp first half display, Kieran Bishop forcing Elliot Pride into a superb save down to his left to preserve Wroxham’s lead.
The second half started in a much cagier manner, Wroxham again looking dangerous every time they attacked, Gordon robbing Madden of the ball after 55 minutes to find Jamie Forshaw, whose effort was supremely blocked by Ajet Shehu.
And they finally got their third to dispel any chances of a Ware revival on 69 minutes, the brilliant Garrod beating Madden to the ball to chip it over the ‘keeper’s head, before cutting inside and smashing it home past two defenders on the line.
The Hertfordshire outfit kept on pushing as the game entered the last ten minutes – Bishop managing to bag a consolation on 83 minutes after nodding home Albert Adu’s ball in – but a resolute Wroxham held strong to see out the win and carry on their impressive recent run.
