Finch bagged two goals in the opening 11 minutes to seize control for The Yachtsmen – with Ryan Flack replying for Tilbury with 52 minutes on the clock – but Joe Nightingill’s sending off with 15 minutes to go meant Stewart Larter’s men saw out the remaining moments to claim the win.
The Yachtsmen made one change from the side that lost to Harlow Town on Tuesday, with Jack Garrod replacing David Hinton and Danny White adopting a more defensive role in the middle of the park.
Wroxham came out of the blocks flying and were one up after 90 seconds, the returning Garrod slotting in Finch, who calmly stroked home from 10 yards.
And it wasn’t long before Wroxham made it 2-0, Finch reacting quickest to a goalmouth scramble to pick up the loose ball and fire home from 6 yards to go into double figures for the season.
The Yachtsmen were making the most of a Tilbury side bereft of confidence, Finch again in the thick of it after 38 minutes, the striker’s square ball finding Garrod who forced Joseph Insole into a smart stop.
The Dockers came out with more presence in the second half and gave themselves hope of a comeback after 52 minutes as Flack nodded home from 4 yards after a whipped ball in from the right wing.
This spurred the home side on but they were unable to find a way back in, with Wroxham’s defence – marshalled by the superb leadership of Andy Howell – keeping them at bay.
Nightingill was then shown a second yellow for a reckless tackle on Nathan Stone to hand the initiative back to the visitors, allowing Wroxham the freedom to go in search of a third.
Gordon had a superb free kick tipped over on 82 minutes - while Finch missed a hat-trick of chances in the final few minutes to claim his third – but it would not matter as Wroxham held on to climb to 9th in the table.
