The Yachtsmen were ahead after 19 minutes, Remy Gordon calmly slotting home from12 yards for his fifth goal in as many games.
Peter Smith blazed over when well paced for the visitors, with Danny White and Jordan King both missing good chances for the hosts in an entertaining first half.
The second half was a scrappier affair, but Wroxham moved up the gears midway through the half, Nathan Stone making in 2-0 with a well struck effort, before Jack Garrod cemented the lead with a smart finish at the near post on 68 minutes.
And Derek Duncan’s sending off for a second yellow card in injury time sealed a miserable night for the visitors, with Wroxham claiming their fifth league win on the bounce.
Wroxham made one change from the side that beat Chatham Town away on Saturday, with Ben Price replacing Andy Howell at the back.
Both sides were struggling to control the ball in the opening exchanges, with the visitors arguably having the better of the play.
Derek Duncan forced Elliot Pride into a decent early stop with six minutes gone, the Thamesmead midfielder whipping in a dangerous free kick that the Wroxham shot-stopper had to be quick to stop down to his left.
Wroxham’s best moments were coming from balls into the box from winger Remy Gordon, with a 7th minute cross being well punched away by Vincent Monzonet, before a 14th minute free kick was flapped at by the Thamesmead ‘keeper, with David Hinton’s follow up effort being well blocked by the defence.
Gordon was proving to be a threat every time he got the ball, and it wasn’t a surprise that it was he that broke the deadlock on 19 minutes to continue his fine recent run of goalscoring form.
Christy Finch was the architect, finding a pocket of space 30 yards from goal to release the winger with a delightful reverse pass, Gordon keeping his cool to take a touch and slot the ball home across the ‘keeper and into the far corner.
Despite their advantage, the hosts had to be wary of the pace of Thamesmead’s attack, and they were almost the masters of their own downfall four minutes later at the visitors missed a golden chance to level matters.
A ball in from the right from Duncan caused panic in the Wroxham area, with Peter Smith benefitting from a pull back to leave the goal at his mercy, only for the midfielder to blaze over when it was easier to hit the target.
Rashid Kamara then had another good opportunity for the away side but could only fire well over from 12 yards, before Danny White missed a great chance to double his side’s lead.
It was Gordon again who provided the delivery, the winger whipping in a devilish 33rd minute free kick that picked out White to perfection, the midfielder rising well but could only send his header just over when free from eight yards.
It was the home side who were looking the more likely to add to their tally as the half neared its end, Gordon again in the thick of it with 43 minutes gone, the winger being found by Steven Talyor down the right following a quick free kick but his effort was well blocked by Monzonet.
On the stroke of half time they came close again, Jordan King this time the player to come within inches of making it 2-0, the midfielder collecting Finch’s ball in from the left to beat his man but place his effort just wide of the left post.
The second half started in a scrappy manner, with neither side able to settle into any sort of rhythm.
With the game meandering along without much incident, The Yachtsmen injected a bit of pace on the hour and moved up the gears to double their lead.
Some classy one touch passing on the halfway line from King and Finch released Stone down the middle, the industrious striker bursting clear to beat his man and fire a fierce effort past Monzonet from the edge of the box.
The second goal gave the hosts the comfort buffer they needed and they began to close the game out, whilst still threatening on the break.
And it was another quality attack from the home side that cemented their lead – and the victory.
Substitute Jack Garrod collected the ball on the right wing and surged down the line, finding Finch inside the box, the striker laying his teammate back in for Garrod to fire into the roof of the net from 10 yards.
This was the killer blow for the home side as Thamesmead looked bereft of confidence - Adam Ramadan blazing over on 80 minutes in their only chance of note – and after Duncan was given his marching orders for a second yellow card in injury time, The Yachtsmen saw the final moments out for their fifth win in six games.
