The Yachtsmen made one change to the side that lost to AFC Sudbury on Tuesday, with Danny Rust replacing captain Danny Self at full back, with former Gorleston skipper Andy Howell taking over the armband for the game.

Larter’s men started the quicker of the two sides, pressing their opponents higher up the pitch and controlling the ball in the early stages and it was no surprise when they took a deserved lead 20 minutes in, Jack Garrod scoring his first goal for the club with a well struck shot that deflected off Ted Llewellyn and over Glenn Williamson’s head in goal.

The goal seemed to shake up the home side and it didn’t take long for them to restore parity, Allen Bossman benefitting from some smart play by striker Dewayne Clarke to slot home from eight yards five minutes before the interval.

The second half started in much the same manner, Wroxham pushing up the pitch and working harder than their North London opponents and it wasn’t long before they retook the lead.

Some good work in the 52nd minute by the Wroxham midfield found Remy Gordon waiting at the back post to tap in and claim his second goal in three games and make things 2-1.

The Yachtsmen were then awarded a penalty on the hour mark, Christy Finch stepping up to calmly slot the ball home, bagging his first goal for the club in the process.

The away side could have had more had it not been for some fine goalkeeping by Williamson – who twice denied Wroxham when in one-on-one situations – but it would not matter at Larter’s side saw the game out with ease and completed a morale boosting win.
