Neither side created much in a tight first half, Elliot Pride blocking well from Jordan Blackwell’s attempted lob on 36 minutes and Steve Taylor clearing well from under his crossbar from Ollie Hughes’ pull back.
Wroxham started better in the second half - Danny White and Jamie Forshaw both having half chances - but the home side were lurking and they took the lead through Pope’s 69th minute header.
The Yachtsmen huffed and puffed, with Matt Halliday side-footing a 90th minute volley just wide, but Sudbury held on to make it two wins out of two.
Wroxham were unchanged from the side that drew with Ware on Saturday, Jamie Forshaw keeping his place up front to face his former side.
The difference in styles were evident from the off, the home side looking for high balls over the top, while The Yachtsmen were playing some neat passages of passing without too much final bite.
Jack Garrod had an early effort that flashed wide in the best the visitors could muster, whilst Sudbury had a corner that flashed across the goalmouth in their best attempt in the opening quarter of an hour.
A couple Michael Shinn free kicks had to be watched carefully by the Wroxham defence, both balls in being headed away well, while first Forshaw and then White were both denied bursting runs behind the Sudbury defence by some superb last ditch defending.
The Yachtsmen were showing some superb resolve at the back, their defences being only really breached once in the first half hour, Ollie Hughes running behind in behind with 23 minutes on the clock, dragging his cross back only to find Wroxham left back Steve Taylor, who did well to clear from under his own crossbar.
The home side were almost in again as they got behind the Wroxham back four on 36 minutes, Jordan Blackwell this time finding himself bearing down on goal, only for Pride to stand tall and block his attempted lob just inside the box.
This seemed to inspire David Batch’s men, Payton Swatman drifting out to the left 60 seconds later before whipping in a tantalising ball that Hughes poked just wide of the near post.
The game meandered towards half time, with Danny Self’s yellow card just before the break the most notable incident as both sides showed plenty of passion, but very little in the way of attacking quality.
The Yachtsmen started the quicker of the two teams in the second half, Self whipping in a dangerous 46th minute free kick that Alex Archer punched away, the ball falling to White from just outside the area who drilled his shot into the side netting.
Forshaw then drilled a shot straight at Archer as Wroxham were doing all the pressing in the final third.
The home side thrust two substitutions on in an attempt to stem the Wroxham flow, first ex-Wroxham midfielder Jack Guyton came on for his first competitive appearance in a Sudbury shirt, before Jake Reed – who apparently missed kick off after travelling to the wrong ground – replaced Blackwell.
The hour mark saw the game become more stretched, Hughes again causing trouble down the channels for Sudbury, with some solid defensive work from the Wroxham back four snuffling out any chance for the striker, before a superb last ditch interception from Ryan Henshaw stopped Christy Finch from picking up Forshaw’s ball across when through on goal.
The introduction of Reed certainly seemed to give Sudbury more impetus in attack, the former Lowestoft man connecting with a high pull back but could only direct his header straight at Pride from six yards out.
And this confidence going forward eventually told as the home side took the lead with 69 minutes on the clock.
Lee Flynn whipped in a superb corner from the right, Craig Pope rising highest to power home a superb header in the far left corner to take the lead for his side.
Wroxham were struggling to create anything clear cut as the game reached the final ten minutes, Finch striking a fierce shot from the edge of the box in their best moment.
Sudbury were still prying down the other end, Reed twice almost getting in, the first time getting the ball caught under his feet after some good work from Guyton down the right, before a flicked effort with the outside of his boot from Shinn’s dink in fell harmlessly into Pride’s arms.
Wroxham were knocking on the door but lacked incision, before injury time provided Matt Halliday with a superb chance to snatch a point.
Self’s long free kick picked out the defender with precision, Halliday side-footing across the goal and agonisingly wide as the chance was gone, and let David Batch’s men take home all three points.
