The Yachtsmen welcomed Anglian Combination Premier Division side, Dersingham Rovers, to Trafford Park for the 4th Round Senior Cup tie.
With Wroxham being three leagues higher than Dersingham in the football ladder, both teams and sets of supporters were no doubt expecting Wroxham to outplay and out score the Anglian Combination side.
But it was Wroxham who started the opening couple of minutes on the back foot with Dersingham notching together some good football down the right before a shot at goal went just wide of Hilton's post.
However, Dersingham's early attack woke the hosts up and for the next 40 minutes or so Wroxham hardly allowed Dersingham near their penalty area.
Although the Yachtsmen were not playing with much width, the midfield of Jones, Harrop, Lemmon and Durrant appeared to be working well, with the home side creating a lot of chances, most of which fell to Strikers Forshaw and Thompson, but failed to capatilise on them.
Forshaw had three good efforts, on goal, on 14, 18 and 22 minutes respectively but his well struck shots and header were well saved by the Dersingham Nr.1.
Wroxham were given a great opportunity on 29 minutes to open the scoring when Thompson was played in in the box, with his back towards goal, but he was dragged down by a Dersingham defender. The referee immediately pointed to the spot although the Dersingham players, bench and travelling supporters contended the official's decision.
Angelo Harrop picked up the ball, placed it on the spot and blasted the ball past Dersingham's Goalkeeper and in to the back of the net to make the score 1-0 to Wroxham.
Wroxham continued to keep the ball well, dominating the play in the first 45, and not allowing the visitors much possession. The home side were very close to increasing their lead on 40 minutes when Dersingham were unable to clear a corner, the ball fell kindly to Halliday who played the ball back to Hipperson who hit a half volley inches wide of the post.
Lemmon had to be replaced on 41 minutes by Andy Eastaugh following a nasty collision with two Dersingham players who slid in to challenge Lemmon for a ball. One of the visiting players kneed Lemmon in the back. Unfortunately Lemmon never recovered from the challenge and physio treatment, and had to leave the field of play.
Dersingham had few chances in the first half but were awarded a free kick on 42 minutes which was blasted straight in to the Wroxham wall.
Wroxham continued to play better football than their opponents and could of had 6 or 7 before half time if they had taken their chances. Thompson was very close to scoring seconds before the half time whistle when his turn and shot from 6 yds was blocked on the line by a Dersingham defender.

Dersingham came out in the second half with a bit more about their game but it was Wroxham who were still creating the better opportunities in the first 10 minutes of the half, with Durrant coming close on two occasions to adding a second for the Yachtsmen.
However the visitors never gave up, continued to defend well, battled hard, and attacked when they could. And on 56 minutes equalised when the play opened up down the left for Dersingham and their left winger found time and space before cutting inside Lewis and delivering a low cross across goal which was diverted in to his own net by Hipperson. Hipperson was then jumped on by a Dersingham player as part of his celebrations, and the visiting player was booked for his irrespectful actions.
This shocked Wroxham, who continued to find it difficult to capitilise on their chances and get back in the lead, and on 66 minuted they felt it was time to unleash the fast and powerful Blake who replaced Forshaw who was quiet in the second half.
But it took a little while for Blake to get in to the game and Dersingham had the next best chance on 67 minutes when their Nr.7 was played through in the area but his left footed strike was well saved by Hilton in the Wroxham goal.
It was looking like the under dogs were going to nick this game off Wroxham, who were failing to take their chances, but it was the Yachtsmen who eventually got the winner on 82 minute, after Blake had been prevented two goals by two brilliant saves from the Dersingham Goalkeeper.
Wroxham's winner came from some neat football in the midfield when Durrant was eventually played in to the area, unmarked, and slotted the ball past the Dersingham Nr.1.
