The Yachtsmen altered the entire back four following their 1-1 draw at K Lynn on Saturday, as well as giving a starting place to David Hinton.
Claudio Langlois, the 19 year old forward from France was given his second start, even though he is yet to even train with the squad.
First half was not too dissimilar from the match at the Walks on Sat, where Gorleston enjoyed good periods of possession without troubling Plummer in the Wroxham goal, and The Yachtsmen’s opportunities were limited to the odd half chance on the break and set plays, when they did have the ball in the back of the net only for it to be disallowed for a foul.
Second half saw much more urgency form the visitors, and 3 shots within the first 10 mins brought out a good save from the home goalkeeper.
At 60 mins, Wroxham replaced the whole of their midfield and Jamie George replaced Claudio Langlois up front and D’Julot came on in goal for Plummer. This meant that there were 10 different faces on the pitch from those that started Saturday. The introduction of the young players sparked more life into the Wroxham team with the pace of the attacks going up another gear and finally 18 yr old Joe Marsden scored a quality volley following a flick on by Jamie George.
George was again involved in the next goal, where some good play saw him square the ball to forward partner Blake who tapped in from 2 yards.
Blake added his second in his first full 90 mins of pre season, when he headed home at the far post following another assist from Jamie George.
Manager David Batch was particularly pleased with the impact the players had after coming on, in particular Jamie George, Jamie Spellar and Joe Marsden.
‘We are still a way off being ready’, said Batch, ‘but we have over 3 weeks and 6 more matches to fine tune some of the attacking areas of our game which we have not yet covered in training’.
‘As always, Gorleston gave us a really good game and it wouldn’t surprise me if they will be up there next season around the top 6’.
