Boosted by the return of key players, the hosts got off to a dramatic start, scoring twice in the opening three minutes. Birchall scoring from a Bullard cross, then completing her brace after racing past her marker to bury the ball into the corner of the goal.
Most of the early exchanges were in the Haringey half as Wroxham pushed forward and from a short corner, Pasque was just unable to steer the ball home.
Scully who had been injured earlier in the half was replaced by Russell on 21 minutes, herself returning from injury suffered in the first game against Luton and was straight into the action firing just over the bar after Rowland had laid the ball into her path.
Haringey’s first meaningful attack was through the centre of the field, but Horn was alert to cut out the through ball. However, the visitors stunned the hosts scoring against the run of play in the 30th minute. The hosts losing possession in midfield, Haringey pushed forward and scored from distance.
This reverse stunned the Yachtswomen into more urgency in their play and Bullard forced the away keeper to save before following up Dawson had her effort saved as well. Russell then hit the bar with a free-kick after Rowland was fouled around 25 yards out from goal.
Despite their pressing Wroxham held a narrow 2-1 advantage as the sides went into half-time.
Within 3 minutes of the restart, Wroxham had increased their lead with Dawson firing home into the top corner and five minutes later, Bullard was rewarded for her endless running racing past the defender and scoring to give the hosts a 4-1 lead.
Determination by Bullard chasing down a ball near the by-line saw her cross the ball to Dawson who fired into the top corner to extend Wroxham’s lead. However almost straight from the kick-off some casual defending saw the visitors claw a goal back to make the score 5-2 in favour of Wroxham.
In the final twenty minutes Wroxham gave all their outfield substitutes a run out as the hosts played out the game. The closest effort to goal was from Bullard, whose lob shot bounced twice on the top of the crossbar before being collected by the keeper, as the host claimed all three points from a comfortable 5-2 victory.
