Manager Simpson was able to welcome back Waters and Kett after being unavailable for a couple of weeks, which relegated Bullard and Densley to the bench.
The hosts forced a corner in their first attack which was headed clear, the rebound was well wide of the target. Minutes later an attack down the right flank saw the Stevenage wide player shoot well over the bar.
Wroxham’s attacks in the early stages were limited. A long free kick from Walker was collected by the home keeper, before Waters was just unable to collect a through ball from Walker.
The first real chance of the game fell to the hosts, but Fullbrook in the Wroxham goal was quick off her line to save at the feet of the Stevenage player: then in their next foray forward comfortable saved a long shot.
Stevenage continued to push forward at every opportunity but the visitors back four of Bradford, Horn, Kett and Rudd was standing firm and a last ditch tackle from Horn cleared one dangerous attack.
Only a fine save by the home keeper from Walker’s shot prevented Wroxham from taking the lead. However, a few minutes later, it was the hosts who went ahead when a shot was deflected past Fullbrook.
Shortly before half time Wroxham had the ball in the net after a ball over the top by Connell to Waters saw the striker beat the keeper, however a very tight offside flag ruled out a goal, so the hosts went into the break with a narrow 1-0 lead.
It was the hosts who had a goal disallowed early in the second half. A ball through the centre was converted but the referee ruled a Wroxham player had been fouled in the process.
Stevenage were on the front foot and were having majority of the play but the Yachtswomen were battling hard all over the pitch to thwart the hosts attacks.
In rare attacks, Walker shot just wide of the target before another foray forward saw Wroxham shoot into the side netting.
The visitors resistance in the second half was finally broken with 18 minutes remaining, when a move down the right flank saw an unstoppable shot into the far top corner of the goal.
Stevenage continued to push forward but were unable to increase their lead and ran out 2-0 victors.
