Manager Simpson included 5 debutants in the starting line-up with another 5 on the bench for the season opener.

After a fairly even start to the game it was the host who had the first shot at goal which was well wide. At the other end, a moved down the right flank by Connell saw the home keeper rush out to clear before Eagle could make contact.

The visitors slowly were gaining the ascendency and forced a succession of corner which led to a goalline clearance from a Walker corner but Wroxham were unable to force the ball over the line. From a breakaway Fullbrook in the Wroxham goal has to be alert to save at the feet of an attacker.

A spell ensued where neither keeper was called into action before a defensive mix-up by the visitors saw Horn clear of the line.

The hosts were having their best part of the half just before half-time and an excellent reflex save by Fullbrook prevented Royston from taking the lead before a cross into the area saw a shot hit the bar, however the Royston striker was deemed to be offside as the sides went in goalless at the break.

The early pressure after the restart from the visitors paid off in the 51st minute with Connell robbing a Royston player, going past 2 defenders before shooting into the far corner to give Wroxham a 1-0 lead.
Connell was in the thick of the action and giving her marker a torrid time on the flank. This time sending a long cross to Eagle who forced a good save from the home keeper.

At the other end, after the ball was not cleared, Fullbrook produced an even better save tipping the ball onto the bar from close range with the rebound also hitting the bar before being dealt with by the Wroxham defence.

The home side thought they had scored an equaliser from a short goal kick when robbing the Wroxham defence of the ball in the penalty area, however, after discussion with the assistant disallowed the goal as the home striker was in the area when the goal kick was taken.

Midway through the half, Wroxham doubled their lead. The visitors capitalising on a poor clearance the ball passed to the left and Shorten firing into the roof of the net.

With 5 minutes remaining, Connell secured her brace, stabbing home a free-kick to give the visitors a 3-0 lead.

The hosts pulled a goal back when the striker pounced on a loose ball, but Wroxham restored their 3-goal cushion in the 6th minute of added after a long ball to Bullard was played inside for Olive to fire past the keeper to give Wroxham 3 fully deserved points.
