The Yachtswomen advanced to the 1st round proper of the Women’s FA Cup with a convincing 5-1 victory against Leyton Orient at Brisbane Road.

The daunting surroundings and playing in a large stadium had no effect on Wroxham who pressured the hosts straight from the kickoff and opened the scoring within 90 seconds. Kett scoring after Waters header had come back off the bar.
It was all Wroxham in the early stages with Russell’s shot coming back of the crossbar and only a fine save by the Orient keeper Duroyaiye prevented Waters from doubling the lead.
Bullard shot over the bar from close range as the Yachtswomen continued to pen the host back in their own half and on the half hour mark Waters raced through to slide the ball past the keeper to double the lead.
A good run through the centre by Almeida created Orients first real chance on goal bu the shot was wide of the target.
Waters then scored her second of the game racing past the defence to slot past a helpless Duroyaiye to give Wroxham a 3-0 lead.
Two minutes before half time, Orient were awarded a freekick 25 yards out from goal but the shot was straight at Gowing in the Wroxham goal as the visitors took a comfortable 3-0 lead in at the break.
Within 3 minutes of the restart Wroxham netted a fourth after the keeper made a mistake which was punished by Waters to complete her hat trick.
It was becoming plain sailing for the Yachtswomen and Clarke beat a defender to cross the ball to Bullard who side-footed into the net to give Wroxham a 5-0 lead.
Alexander replaced Robson and was involved immediately in a moved which resulted in a good save by the keeper.
Wroxham thought they had scored a sixth just after the hour mark after Newcombe had found Waters whose cross was converted by Bullard but the goal was ruled offside.
The Yachtswomen brought on Overton and then Connell towards the end of the game to freshen up the side
With a minutes of normal time remaining Wroxham lost possession in midfield and a ball through the centre saw Almeida slide the ball past Gowing for a consolation goal .
Overall a comfortable victory for the Yachtswomen and the reward a home tie against Peterborough United on 12th November. Kickoff 2pm.
