In the early stages, most of the attacking was coming from the visitors and they took the lead on 6 minutes. The hosts lost possession from a throw-in and a quick move down the right flank saw a cross slotted home by the Cambridge striker.
Wroxham started to get into the game slowly and Birchall saw a shot deflected for a corner and three corners in quick succession followed, however the hosts were unable to convert any of them.
Cambridge doubled their lead shortly afterwards, when a cross from the left was not cut out by the home defence and the ball was poked home at the far post.
The middle part of the half saw a period where attacks by both sides were easily broken down by the defences and both keepers rarely tested.
Fullbrook in the home goal pulled off a good save for a corner when a break by the visitors through the centre put the striker through on goal. The corner was comfortable cleared by the hosts.
Wroxham pulled a goal back 7 minutes before half-time. Receiving a Wilson throw-in, Holloway beat her marker and from out wide sent a shot across goal and into the far corner to make the score 2-1 which was the half-time score line.
It was a scrappy start to the second half, with both sides losing possession far too easily, however, the visitors extended their lead on 56 minutes. Wroxham lost possession just outside their penalty area and from the apex of the area the ball was placed into the far corner of the goal.
The hosts almost pull a goal back 10 minutes later after a ball through the middle saw the away keeper lose control of the ball but Holloway was just unable to get in before the ball was cleared.
Chances were few in the latter stages of the game as it meandered through to a tame conclusion with the visitors claiming a deserved 3 points in this group game of the Challenge Cup.
