It was the hosts who created the first chance of the game after the visitors lost possession in midfield, however, in a one-on-one situation the home attacker shot straight at Bell in the Wroxham goal.
The visitors were slow to get into their stride and an attack down the right flank saw the resultant cross volleyed over the bar by Needham.
Wroxham’s first attack came in the 12th minute with the ball played out wide to Larkins, but her cross to the far post was cleared by the hosts. However, 2 minutes later the visitors went ahead. A quick goal-kick by Bell found Cooper, who set Larkins free down the right flank and cutting inside shot over the keeper who was unable to keep the ball out of the goal.
Buoyed by taking the lead, the visitors were enjoying success attacking down the flanks and a long ball was chased down by Bullard, who played the ball back to Holloway to cross. The ball was half cleared to Flatt; whose shot was saved.
However, midway through the half the hosts equalised. A run from the midfield was not closed down by the visitors allowing a clear shot on goal which beat Bell. Only a good save by Bell, tipping a free-kick over the bar, prevented Needham from taking the lead just 3 minutes later.
Larkins saw a free-kick punched clear by the keeper, before Wroxham were forced to make their first change in the game, when Pasque was felled by a knee-high challenge, which ended her game and replaced by Scully, returning after 8 months out with an injury.
Both sides created a couple of half chances in the closing minutes of the half, but none of these troubled the keepers as the side went in level at the break.
The visitors created the first chances of the second half. A long ball to Holloway saw the keeper save with legs, then Larkins saw a shot saved after beating 2 defenders.
A late challenge ended Brister’s game after knocking the ball past her marker and after lengthy treatment was helped off the field to be replaced by Kindred.
Needham went close 12 minutes into the half when a shot from a corner narrowly cleared the bar, but 2 minutes later Wroxham regained the lead, with Cooper and Larkins combining before the latter slotted the ball past the keeper.
As the half progressed, the visitors were having their best spell of the game, but in a rare home attack Bell was forced to push a shot around the post. Shortly afterwards, Wroxham scored a third goal. Holloway’s determination saw her gain possession out wide and she passed to Hoy whose cross was turned in a Bullard.
Bullard completed her brace and made the score 4-1 with 8 minutes of normal time remaining. Holloway’s corner was flicked on by Parker and Bullard was on hand to head home.
Deep into 10 minutes of added time Needham scored 2 goals to make the 4-3, but Wroxham saw out the game to book their visit to Royston Town in the quarter-finals.
