Wroxham travel to Bowers & Pitsea on Saturday looking to extend the unbeaten run to five games.

The hosts are also in good form with one defeat in nine, although they haven’t won in the last three.

Last season, Bowers did the double over the Yachtsman. A 3-1 win at the Ginger Pickle Arena, inspired by Mikey Faulkner and aided by a red card shown to Jordan King was followed by a 1-0 win in Essex on a day when Southgate’s men deserved so much more.

Nothing is certain at any level of football but with the top two both at home and fancied to win, Wroxham will be looking for a positive result before a trip to Felixstowe & Walton United on Tuesday night and a free Saturday next weekend due to Takeley’s continued involvement in the FA Trophy.

Last season, although the defence was solid, not enough goals were scored. This season, the defence remains solid and the goals are flowing. A goal difference of plus 12 is only bettered by Hashtag’s plus 31 and Cambridge City’s plus 15.

With Jordan Southgate acknowledging the fact the team had missed players who can carry the ball and run in behind, Lucas Densley and Sammy Johnson returned to the side last weekend and both were on the scoresheet against Concord Rangers, with Densley scoring twice in the 3-1 win.

With six goals and four points from the last two away games, Wroxham will be looking to continue the good form on the road.
