FA Vase

Eight goals, 3 red cards, 2 penalites and a ripper of a game saw The Yachtsmen finally outgun a dogged Baldock Town to progress to Round 2 of the FA Vase. There they will meet Eastern Counties division one side White Ensign flying out of Southend and who themselves saw off stiff competition from Buckingham Town to book their place and progress further than they have before.

A Grant Holt opener was cancelled out then Baldock took the lead with a disputed or at least a very soft penalty before a thumping header from Chris Skipper and free kick strike from Simon Lappin restored the home lead early in the second half. Charlie Clarke snaffled another before a mazy run and finish from Ryan Miles (pictured) set up the icing on the cake for 16 year old Travis Dodsworth to convert a late penalty for a 6 - 2 win. In amongst all that 3 Baldock players managed to see red.

The second round game will be played on 2nd Novemeber. Transport will be available.
