The Yachtsmen starts the long road to Wembley with a relatively short trip across the county with a visit to Fakenham. The tie in the extra preliminary round of the FA Cup is Wroxham’s first competitive game of the season.

Wroxham come into Saturday’s game after a resounding 3-0 victory over Southern League Leiston, on Tuesday night at the Ginger Pickle Arena in the Yachtsmen’s last pre-season fixture.

Tuesday perhaps gave supporters a clue as to what the starting line up might be at Fakenham. Manager, Jordan Southgate, has certainly freshened up the squad ahead of the 2025-26 season.

Fakenham come into the game having made an excellent start to their Thurlow Nunn League campaign with convincing victories over Stowmarket Town and Heacham . It all suggests a strongly contested cup tie at Clipbush Lane, Fakenham. Kick Off on Saturday 2nd August is at 3pm.

The Fakenham club have reminded Wroxham supporters travelling to Fakenham on Saturday, that their ground does not admit spectator with dogs. In addition the entire stadium is a no smoking/vaping arena.
