Joe Simpson to leave Women's team manager role

The Club is sad to announce the departure of Women's team manager, Joe Simpson.

Simpson took the role on, in an interim capacity, for the last few games of the 2024/25 season before taking on the role permanently in the summer of 2025.

He's led the team to a third place finish in the Eastern Region Women's Football League and won the Harrod Sport Women's Cup for the first time in the Club's history. In addition, he took the team to their furthest point in the Women's FA Cup and to a League Cup Plate final.

Simpson has been offered a wonderful coaching opportunity, which will involve him relocating, making it impossible to continue to do the Women's team role.

Speaking about his departure, Club Chair James Blower said: "I'm incredibly sad to see Joe go. We've tried every avenue possible to try to find a way to make it work - because ultimately both Joe and I would love for him to continue his work - but sadly it isn't something that we can make happen.

I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Joe this season - he's built a team with outstanding talent in it and a superb culture within the group. But more important than that, he's a wonderful person and I shall miss him hugely.

I want to place on record both my personal and the Club's thanks for everything he's done. We wish him well with his new role and he will always be welcome at the Ginger Pickle Arena."
