Denied of the services of Josh Hazell and Ethan Flack, manager, Jordan Southgate handed a full debut to Charlie Moore whilst striker Ryan Hawkins returned to the side after missing the league victory over Walthamstow.

The hosts had the first effort when a sixth minute free-kick cleared Tom Coombe’s cross bar.
In a first half that produced little in the way of goalscoring opportunities, Wroxham took the lead when Sammy Johnson was put clean through on goal and he made no mistake after 35 minutes.

Four minutes later, Ryan John saw his strike hit the side netting and ahead of torrential rain, The Yachtsmen led 1-0 at the break. Within a minute of the restart, ex Wroxham player Finley Whiteley equalised with a shot from the edge of the box.

Like the first half, the second half produced little in the way of clear goalscoring opportunities .With Wroxham looking for a winner, Southgate shuffled his pack. Harry Sparrow replaced Lucas Densley eight minutes before Josh Rivett was brought on for his first team debut. Isaac Jobling replaced Shaun Taylor and two minutes into injury time Freddy Lines replaced Moore.

With the game heading to penalties, in the last minute of time added on, Fakenham won a corner. The ball was swung in from the right and Marley Reynolds rose highest to head a dramatic winner.

Wroxham’s attentions now turn to today. Bank Holiday Monday's Isthmian League fixture when Lowestoft Town visit the Ginger Pickle Arena.

The game which kicks off at 3pm is one that Southgate is looking for to:
“We will be looking to get the three points and continue our 100% home record in the Isthmian League.

“Games against Lowestoft are always a tough, they will turn up with a decent following, looking to take something back to Suffolk.
“August is always a busy month and two games in three days is a test for any squad in non-league and both sets of players will be feeling the effects at full time”.
