The Club is delighted to announce the return of Jordan Southgate as manager with immediate effect.
Commenting on his appointment, Southgate said:
"I’m excited and truly privileged to be returning to the club, after my short spell away. Whilst my recent departure didn’t go as planned for a number of reasons, I’m grateful for the opportunity to come back and help the club move forward during this crucial time.
My one clear aim is to ensure the club remains at step 4 and continues to build for the future. I’m fully committed to doing everything I can to support the players, the staff, the volunteers and the fans to achieve this! The hard work begins and I look forward to the first game Tuesday night!"
Chair James Blower said:
I’m delighted to welcome Jordan back to the Club. Jordan was incredibly successful here and I have every confidence he will restore this team to where it should be.
It’s obviously been a difficult 24 hours and it was important to move quickly and it is essential we are all focused on moving forward now.
We have a tough game against Felixstowe on Tuesday where we shall also have ESPN, who are an American sports channel owned by Disney, filming in response to the documentary
Jordan will be supported by Craig, who will remain part of the management team, Daz and Becky. We will also announce a new assistant manager in due course
It’s imperative we get behind the players and management on Tuesday night. The support on Saturday was incredible - both the number attending and the noise created from you all. I want to thank the fans for their support - we have one of the highest average attendances in the league this season - and I hope that we can have the same level of backing on Tuesday night as we seek to move up the table."
