Wroxham take on Ipswich Wanderers

Tomorrow evening ( Tuesday 21st January) sees the Yachtsmen take on Ipswich Wanderers at the Ginger Pickle Arena at Trafford Park. Kick Off 7.45pm.

A win for the Yachtsmen would move the club out of the bottom four. Meanwhile the visitors somewhat adrift at the foot of the table, are desperately in need of points.

Wroxham come into the game buoyed by an excellent 4-1 away win at Basildon Utd on Saturday. Manager Jordan Southgate was forced into a number of changes owing to injury and player unavailability.

An injury to regular goalkeeper and captain, Ollie Sutton resulted in the club signing experienced keeper, Tom Coombe, for a second spell at the club and loanee Norwich City Under 18 defender, Alfie Doy got his first start at right back.

The Yachtsmen pummelled the Basildon goal in the first twenty minutes but were thwarted by both posts and an online clearance before Aston Jaggard opened the scoring on 26 mins.

The home side started the second half with more purpose and equalised from close range following a corner. However Wroxham soon regained the lead through Harvey Peters.

The Yachtsmen went looking for a third goal to seal the victory and a through pass from Ryan Miles split the Basildon defence and Asa McGeachy slotted the ball home.

In the five minutes of added time, Wroxham substitute , Harry Sparrow broke through and calmly added a fourth goal ,his first goal for the club’s first team.
